Questions please...

1. What’s your major? What year will you graduate?
I am a business  major and I am considering a minor in environmental science. 

2. Why did you choose a photography class (or photography as a major), and what do you hope to learn from school in general and this class specifically?
I chose to be in a photography class because photography class was the most appealing art credit to me. I hope to learn the basics of photography so that I can use it in day to day situations.

3. What are your goals after graduation? Please list your goals in reverse order, starting five years out, then three, two, one, and six months.
Five Year: To be working in a nonprofit organization, preferably the business aspect but still helping the environment.
Three Years: To be finishing up college, prepared with a job that I want when graduating.
Two Years: To be a globally aware student, ready to study abroad! 
One Year: To be involved on campus, while keeping the grades I want.
Six Months: To get through the first semester of college with all As.

4. What artists, musicians, photographers, writers, movies, books have influenced you/your work?
A family friend Dwight Vasel inspires me. He is a photographer in DFW and is highly accomplished.

5. Are there any important websites that you are referencing for art/photo competitions and/or information?
Nothing in particular, I get ideas from my surroundings.

6. What museums and/or galleries have you been to in the past year?
I have been to a variety of museums including: 
The Modern Museum in Fort Worth
The Kimbal Art Museum
The George Bush Museum at SMU 
The Science Museum in St. Paul, MN

7. Have you had any photo projects and/ or training in the past?
No I have not.

8. What is the value of art for the artist?
The value of art for the artist is whatever pleases the artist, and allows them to get their purpose across.

9. What is the value of art for the audience?
The value of art for the audience is whatever the audience views as important to them. Different people can view the same piece of art as a wide range of value.

10. Is photography a vocation or an avocation?
I feel that photography is whatever you want it to be. For me photography is an avocation, but I respect those who have the talent to make it a vocation. 

11. What is your passion?
I love traveling and meeting new people.

12.What are you afraid of? What makes you uncomfortable?
I am extremely afraid of whales. I know its strange but they creep me out. 

13. Do you have a passport? Are you a traveller?
Yes, I have a passport and I love to travel. Its probably my favorite thing ever.

14. Who is your favorite artist? And why?
I do not have a favorite artist, I just prefer artwork with clean lines and unique angles. 

15. Why did you sign up for this class? What do you hope to learn from it?
I signed up for this class to get basic photography knowledge that I could use in day to day life.
