Blog Review: Light Leaked

  • Light Leaked has new material every Monday as well as four photographer interviews by Ashley Kauschinger every month. Light Leaked is a photography blog that focuses on many aspects of photography, including interviews, the business aspect, and photo reviews. The blog editor and founder is Ashley Kauschinger. I like how the sight is visually appealing with the background having a dark color and the words (articles) having a white background. I feel like this reiterates the name light leaked as the articles are leaking light on to the blog.  The sight is easy to access because of the bar on the side that separates the blogs by month as well as the easy navigation bar on top of the web page.
  • The blog is about Sarah Malakoff’s new photo book Charta. Malakoff was born in Massachusetts in 1972. She is now a widely exhibited photographer and works as the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Malakoff has several awards including being awarded Fellowships from the Massachusetts Cultural Council in 2001 and 2011. Malakoff’s work focuses on how physical items in our home represent who we are. Malakoff also mentions that windows can either be to control our environment or to let views in. I personally enjoyed the blog because I love interior design. I can easily relate to how what we place in our homes representing ourselves because I feel like I represent myself in that way.
